We got up early to wash the motorcycle and trailer
and then head for home. Linda’s father wanted us to take some plums
home that he had grown, but there was no room on the motorcycle or
in the trailer. As we got on the road for the last 60 miles to home,
it became clear to us that during the middle of the morning on a workday,
the traffic was already heavy. Hwy 680 towards San Jose stayed heavy
the whole way, and got worse as we reached the south bay.
Linda and I commented about the amount of traffic as we rode and agreed
that after riding over 5000 miles on this motorcycle, through 11 states,
we had to come back to the bay area to find the real crappy traffic.
It makes us think about where we want to live when we retire.
We reached Santa Clara in time for lunch and stopped at our local
Chili’s for something to eat and an excuse to lengthen our trip.
As we left the restaurant, it was time to admit that the trip was
over. We pulled into our driveway, quickly unloaded the bike and
trailer and savored what we had just seen and done.
Time to start planning next years trip. |
