Today we visited relatives. I was born in Missouri but moved to California
as a young child. My father got a job in the Kaiser Ship Yards
in Richmond, CA, during World War II and liked it. He said
he quickly figured out that he didn't have to shovel the rain
and decided to stay. That means I have lots of relatives in
Missouri and Arkansas but I've had precious few opportunities
to see them.
Today I was able to see my cousins Bud Whitehead and his
sister Bet since they were kind enough to meet us for lunch
at a local historical hotel/restaurant called the Arlington
(photo 1), and then came out to my sister's home on
Valle Lake in DeSoto. There is really nothing to say except
we had a really enjoyable time visiting and catching up on
family news, and appreciated their company. For my relatives
who are following along I've included some pictures (photos
2, 3, & 4).
